Prerequisites: BE-114 Medical Terminology and BE-115 Medical Office Administration Procedures; keyboarding speed of 35 wpm.
Medical Transcription is a vital part of 21st Century health care. The student will become proficient in state-of-the-art medical transcription techniques, and will transcribe all forms of medical correspondence including Chart Notes, History and Physical, X-Ray, Operative, Diagnostic Imaging, Consultation, and Procedure reports. Emphasis will be placed on accuracy, speed, ability to proofread and edit, individual and team approaches, excellence in the field, and the establishment and maintenance of professional standards of excellence essential to the delivery of the highest quality health care for all patients
