Practical Nursing
One Year Full Time Day Program
The Practical Nursing Full Time Day Program (46 Weeks) is a one year program designed to prepare students to function as integral members of the health care team and to meet the licensing requirements of the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
The program requires two semesters and a summer session in theoretical and clinical studies that incorporate content and concepts relevant to biological and physical sciences, behavioral science, principles and practices of nursing and contemporary health issues in health care.
A new cycle of day classes begins in the Spring (Begins in February) and Fall (Begins in August) of each year. Credit for Anatomy & Physiology may be permitted upon documentation of a C or better in college level A&P I & II and Microbiology.
Articulation programs are in place with Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center School of Nursing (Howard B. & Dorothy A Snyder School) and Raritan Valledy Community College for qualified graduates of the Practical Nursing Program who wish to continue their studies.
Students who complete our program have the option to apply as a non-matriculated student at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in order to receive any or all of the elective credit after passing the required UMDNJ exams. (See electives listed in box)
