Interior Design
Certificate Program
(Residential Specialization) 36 Credits
Diploma Program
(Residential and Commercial) 72 Credits

Interior Design is the understanding of a built environment and
its relationship to people. In short, it’s the creation of space in
which people work, live and play.

The Interior Design Program covers both the Residential and
Commercial facets of Interior Design. Students will be prepared to
enter the work force as entry-level designers, design
coordinators, space planners, stylists and drafters or can continue
with advanced course work towards a Bachelor’s Degree.

The goal of the program is to encourage the student to
conceptualize and create successful design solutions for a wide
variety of clients and design problems. Classes are held days,
evenings and on Saturday.

This is one of the joint technology programs offered by Raritan
Valley Community College and Somerset County Technology
Institute. Students attend classes at both educational facilities
and earn an Associate of Applied Science degree upon successful
completion of the program. SCTI/RVCC joint courses will be
recorded at both institutions.

Students will be expected to purchase art & drafting
supplies for Interior Design Classes as well as books.
