Medical Biller/Coder
Spring Semester begins January 22, 2008. Healthcare has become one of the fastest growing industries
in the United States. This growth can be attributed to legislation and changes in medical insurance. Physicians need employees who understand the complexities of insurance billing. Because of this demand, medical billing has become one of the most popular careers in the nation. Responsibilities involve accurately completing claim forms, promptly billing insurance companies, and adhering to each insurance carrier's policies and procedures. Hospitals, private practices and clinics could not survive without someone who efficiently handles their day-to-day medical billing procedures. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: This program is open to anyone who has a high school diploma or equivalency certificate, is at least 18 years of age, has the desire, and can demonstrate a reasonable chance of success in a post-secondary level course of study. Students must be computer literate or
take a basic computer applications course before entering the program. A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the program.

Graphic Communications & Multimedia
Classes begin January 22, 2008 unless otherwise noted. Students enrolling in our Graphic Design program will receive hands-on training in such software programs as QuarkXpress, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and traditional courses in drawing, painting and illustration. They will be able to think creatively, problem solve and develop good drawing, painting and design skills. Technologically
advanced Macintosh/PC computer labs & conventional art equipment bring the electronic & traditional worlds of graphic design together. Students are also taught web page design, animation and digital retouching. Field trips to printers, trade shows, museums and art studios round out the program's broad base. Graduates are prepared to enter the field as graphic artists, computer or desktop publishing artists. Credits are transferable to colleges and other art institutions including Kean University, The Art Institutes of New York, Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale and DuCret School of Art. All classes are taught by professional designers, nationally published illustrators, or computer artists. Upon completion of the program, students will have earned valuable credits and possess a professional portfolio. NEW students may enroll in the program if they are transferring credits from another art school or maintain advanced standing in Graphic Design. A portfolio review will be required with the program coordinator. Individual courses may be taken for credit without advanced standing.
Students will be expected to purchase art &
drafting supplies as well as books for Graphic
Design Classes
