How do I get a tuition charge-back?
Students who permanently reside in any other county other than Somerset may have their out-of-county portion of the tuition paid for by their home county. If your county DOES NOT have a vocational school:
-Go to your county treasurer and obtain a certificate of residence.
-Bring or send the certificate to the Somerset County Technology Institute, with your payment for the course you wish to attend
If your county DOES have an evening vocational-technology school:
-Go to your county school and obtain a certificate of eligibility.
-Take the certificate of eligibility to your county treasurer and exchange it for a certificate of residence.
-Bring or send the certificate of residence to the Somerset County Technology Institute, with your payment at the time of registration.

How can I find out about school closings due to inclement weather?
When the weather is inclement, students are requested to listen to the following stations for school closing announcements:

In the event of a possible closing or delayed opening, the following rules apply:
1. If Somerset County Technology Institute is not mentioned specifically by name as closed, SCTI is open.
2. Should the radio announcement refer to a late opening at SCTI due to inclement weather, the first class will begin at 10:00 AM
