DR. ARLEEN H. URBAN RECEIVES SERVICE AWARD FROM THE SOMERSET COUNTY BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS
Dr. Arleen H. Urban, Supervisor of Office Administration Programs at Somerset County Technology Institute, received an Outstanding Service Award from the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Rick Fontana, Director of the board, presented the award and praised Dr. Urban for her service to the county that began in 1968, when she joined the SCTI faculty.
He commended her for building the program to over 100 students in her first years of teaching. He also acknowledged her for supervising new programs that included Medical Transcription, Legal Assistant, Customer Service, Human Resources and a variety of computer studies. The freeholders and members of the community who were present at the June 2nd meeting wished Dr. Urban well as she enters retirement on June 30th, after 41 years of teaching and service to Somerset County.
“Dr. Urban will be remembered as a well-respected educator, consummate professional, and an eloquent spokeswoman for her students,” said Michael A. Maddaluna, Superintendent of Schools.
